Contact Us[ UCL Jitsu ] Main Menu Welcome Location and Training TimesAstor College Gym 99 Charlotte Street Tues and Thurs from 20.00 - 22.00 | 2012 Randori Competition National Champions Located in Central London, the University College London Union Jitsu Club is a martial arts club that focuses on practical self-defence using techniques that really work. Jiu Jitsu (or Juijitsu or just Jitsu) is a martial art that does not rely on strength, so men and women of any size can and do become very good at it. In the heart of Bloomsbury, near Euston Station and minutes from Tottenham Court Road, the UCLU Jitsu Club is easy to find. There are maps here. The UCLU Jitsu Club has been training twice each week in Bloomsbury since 1985. Our instructor, James Garvey Sensei, Nidan, has been with the club since 1994. Because our instructors take no money, training is very inexpensive. The club has had some amazing success in national competitions, with 13 national titles - including the Randori Nationals in March 2009, 2011 and 2012. (Details here.) If you want to be part of something that is already a great success, look no further. Beginners are welcome all year round. If you want to find out more, there are answers to many questions in the side bar. Contact Us if you have any further questions or just turn up to any session. As the sessions are practical, it's best to wear something loose and comfortable. Your first session is free, so you can just give it a try to see if Jitsu is for you. ![]() Sunday 22 April 2012 Training Resumes!James on Sunday 22 April 2012 - 09:14:03 | Read/Post Comment: 0 We are back in action starting this week, from 8 - 10 on Tues and Thurs at Astor College, 99 Charlotte Street -- we usually close the BFC sessions after Easter, but if there's a huge outcry we can carry on.Monday 26 March 2012 Grading Results / Easter ClosureJames on Monday 26 March 2012 - 03:01:39 | Read/Post Comment: 0 Very happy to say that everyone from UCL passed the grading at the weekend:Maria Y; Ana Y1; Steph Y1; Zolravko Y2; Ilyas Y3 Michael o2 Man-Yiu P; Olivia P The BFC is closed from the 5 - 11th and Astor is now shut until 23 April.
